Notts children’s charity gets boost from local professionals

Children’s charity, When You Wish Upon a Star (WYWUAS), has received a donation of over £7200 from property and construction professionals in Nottingham, following the success of Nottingham Hot Property 2016.

Last year marked the twelfth Nottingham Hot Property, a one-of-a-kind annual fundraising event attended by leading professionals in Nottingham. The event aims to showcase the best talent in the city, while raising thousands of pounds to support local children.

Every December, Nottingham-based charity WYWUAS, treats seriously ill children and their families to a trip of a lifetime to Lapland, providing them with a chance to escape from the difficulties they face on a day-to-day basis. It costs WYWUAS £90,000 to charter the private flight to Lapland – which is raised by events such as Nottingham Hot Property.

Nicola Brien, regional fundraising manager at WYWUAS, said: “Everyone involved in the Hot Property event is fantastic, they really put their heart and soul into everything, making the evening unlike any other professional event in Nottingham.

“Our Lapland trip, which is funded by events like Hot Property, is extraordinary, as it gives the ultimate gift of smiles and happiness for children and families who are most in need. It would not be possible without the fundraising efforts of local businesses and we are so grateful to everyone involved in Hot Property from the performers to attendees.”

Hot Property 2016 was sponsored by Pulse Associates, Millward, BSP Consulting, Faithful and Gould, Couch Perry Wilkes, CPMG Architects and DL Design Studio. Joining these were TheBusinessDesk.com, Cleggs Solicitors, Cartwright Communications, Blimey Creative and Chameleon.

One of Hot Property’s organisers, Siobhan Goodacre, said: “We’re always blown away by the success of these events, and last year was no exception. It’s always amazing to see so many local professionals coming together to make a real difference.

“The acts were top quality and really got into our Hollywood theme – from James Bond to Rocky Horror and even Frozen, the variety of music was brilliant. The atmosphere was great and the audience really helped make the night. We’re thrilled to have raised so much money for children facing incredibly tough times.”
