Ex-Asda director joins Nottingham firm
Nottingham-based Solutions for Retail Brands (S4RB) has appointed a new non-executive retail director.
Penny Coates joins the private brand grocery retail specialist having previously worked as private label director at Asda. She also held leading positions at other companies including Mars, PepsiCo and Boots and worked in various non-executive director and advisory roles.
As an executive main board director and managing director at Manchester Airports Group, Coates secured future growth deals and lead customer focus and sustainability programmes at major UK airports.
She said: “S4RB has created an impressive name for itself in the retail industry and it’s an exciting prospect for me to be joining at such a strong period of investment for the company, particularly in growing its US presence and the continued development of its innovative UBX Cloud Services.
“The UK is considered to be leading the way in the private brand retail industry and S4RB is right at the front of this progressive movement. I look forward to helping the business bring its transformational offering to even more retailers and suppliers, resulting in game-changing private brand products and customer experience.”
S4RB produces and manages software to improve relationships and engagement between retailers, their own brand suppliers and consumers.
“We’re thrilled to be working with Penny,” said James Butcher, director of S4RB. “With her impressive retail and management experience, we’re confident she will help us to meet our goals and in particular, increase our expansion into the US market.
“To help retailers evolve their private brands, we’ve made a series of investments into our team and products. Penny’s involvement will certainly help to drive S4RB’s offering forwards and cement our standing as leaders in the industry.”
