Which two Leicestershire waste firms have merged?

Leicester-based Berridge Waste Paper has bought Bakers Waste Services.

Berridge was established in the 1880s, and today creates a number of paper and cardboard recycling products

James Simmonds at UHY Hacker Young brokered the deal for Berridge.

He said: “This was a strategic purchase for Bakers Waste Services, which will help the business to grow. The acquisition of Berridge Waste Paper will complement Bakers Waste Services, helping it to provide even more recycling solutions which will appeal to both existing and potential clients.”

“We have worked closely with Berridge Waste Paper for many years and we are very pleased to be involved in this deal, creating a new chapter in the successful firm’s legacy. We are delighted to have worked closely with Simon Dakin at Actons Solicitors and Bakers Waste Paper throughout the duration of the deal.”

Ian Berridge, managing director at Berridge Waste Paper, said: “This partnership with Bakers Waste Services will allow our family business to continue its growth and to provide further solutions into the recycling industry. We were delighted by the support given by James and his team at UHY Hacker Young together with Actons.”
