Trampolines and segway tracks make for unique office

An unusual licence for alterations was required to fulfil PKF Cooper Parry’s planned new office move – enabling unique office features to become a reality.

“It’s not unusual to deal with a licence for alterations in terms of a new lease but this transaction required a more unique licence – certainly not one we come across very often,” said Paul Hinchliffe, solicitor and commercial property law specialist at Nelsons Solicitors, which acted for the accountancy firm on the deal.

The new office space, located at One Central Boulevard at Blythe Valley Business Park, Solihull, features trampolines, Segway tracks, gaming areas, popup meeting tents as well as a sports bar.

“As substantial changes to the building were required, we worked collaboratively with the designers on the project, Paragon Interiors,” Hinchcliffe added.

“Through working closely together we were able to get to a stage where PKF Cooper Parry was comfortable to complete the transaction knowing they could make a start on the alterations immediately.

“The team had very definite goals in terms of what they wanted to achieve, which made the process a lot smoother. We wish PKF Cooper Parry all the best for when they move into their new space.”

With PKF Cooper Parry’s West Midlands office currently located in central Birmingham, Nelsons has enabled work to fit out the new 17,810 sq ft unit.

The deal was brokered by Robert Hartley, chairman of Innes England.
