Former Grant Thornton tax specialist launches own practice

A former Grant Thornton tax specialist is set to launch her own practice in Leicester next week.

Opes Tax will work exclusively with business owners, high net worth individuals and trustees to provide bespoke tax advice.

Kari Mellon, founder of Opes Tax, said: “I am delighted to be able to make this announcement. Opes Tax will focus on providing tailored advice to its clients, having regular dialogue with them and offering a first-class service. Over recent years the focus of many accountancy firms has been on corporates and not individuals and the tax challenges they face, but at Opes Tax that is our focus.”

Opes Tax will provide advice on income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax and trust taxation as well as providing an efficient tax return service.

Mellon trained with Coutts & Co in London and more recently worked for Grant Thornton and was part of its East Midlands operational management team.
