Northants care home sold to Hertfordshire firm

A Hertfordshire-based provider of residential dementia care has completed the acquisition of its fifth care home facility.

Benslow Management, which operates four residential homes, has acquired Jade Country Care Homes following a £1.6m business loan from NatWest.

The family-run business will now own and operate the Five Gables Nursing Home in Kettering, Northamptonshire, adding 43 registered beds to its estate.

Founded by husband and wife Stephen and Susan McQuinn in 1998, Benslow Management currently provides 3,000 hours of care every week.

The provider holds a Dementia accreditation from Hertfordshire County Council and employs 110 people across the organisation.

Stephen McQuinn said: “Our philosophy focuses on our ability to help people living with dementia to retain their independence, accommodate their condition and live their life to the full.

“Thanks to financial support from NatWest, we are now able to extend the care that we offer to more people in need. We are looking forward to working with the team at Five Gables, to ensure we provide the best quality of dementia care across all our sites.”

NatWest rlationship manager, Rob Storey, said: “The provision of dementia care is an increasingly important issue nationally. The finance we have provided will enable Benslow Management to continue its aims of providing high quality care to as many people as possible, growing its business in the process.”
