1,000 acres of Lincs farmland up for sale for £5m

Wydale Farm, Sibsey.

Two arable farms producing an existing income of £87,146 per annum have come to the market through Savills in Lincoln.

Bishops & Trader Bridge Farm and Wydale Farm in Sibsey near Boston extend to approximately 986.89 acres in total and are available as a whole or as two separate lots.

Bishops & Trader Bridge Farm extends to around 725 acres made up of mainly Grade 2 with some Grade 1 arable land. It includes a principal farmhouse, four cottages ranging from three to four beds, a range of farm buildings and an 8.5 million gallon irrigation reservoir.

Wydale Farm is made up of around 261 acres of Grade 2 arable land and a range of traditional farm buildings.

Andrew Pearce, head of farm agency at Savills Lincoln, who is marketing the land on behalf of the client, said: “It has been a long time since two prime investment holdings of this size and of this quality in this area have come to the open market. We are expecting interest from investors, funds and institutions and of course private individuals as well as overseas buyers who see these farms as good value, particularly with the currency differential.

“Investment farmland has outperformed many other asset classes over the last ten years and these farms offer the successful purchasers a tangible investment which is relatively easy to manage.”

The farms are offered for sale by Private treaty as a whole or in two lots with guide prices of £5m for Bishops & Trader Bridge Farm and £1.35m for Wydale Farm. The farms are available freehold, subject to Agricultural Holdings Act 1986 tenancies.
