On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Nikki Paterson

Nikki Paterson has been appointed to the role of CBI East Midlands assistant regional director.

Patnerson has spent the last three years working for the UK training organisation learndirect, engaging and partnering with national and regional companies to develop skills in the workforce. Previously, she worked as an energy consultant, helping businesses reduce their energy costs and carbon footprint in line with the carbon reduction commitment in the UK.

She said: “I am excited to be joining the CBI and look forward to representing the East Midlands region and the interests of its companies, at a time when the role of the CBI as the voice of business could not be more important.”

Richard Blackmore, CBI East Midlands regional director, added: “These are crucial times for our country and it is especially important that a strong regional business voice is heard at the heart of the debate. Nikki will be a real asset to the team and will no doubt be a positive force for good on behalf of the wider East Midlands business community.”

Bill Joss

Retail Assist, the Nottingham-based IT software and support service firm, has appointed a new chairman.

The firm has appointed Bill Joss to oversee the strategic direction of the business.

Retail Assist’s chief executive Dan Smith said: “We’re going through an exciting transformation that comes with being a growing organisation, underpinning the technology infrastructure and operations of some of the biggest names in retail and hospitality internationally.
