On the move: the latest East Midlands hires
Wills and probate solicitor Nadia Faki has joined the Leicester office of Nelsons Solicitors.
Faki started her career at Leicestershire-based law firm Lawson West 10 years ago, where she worked her way through the ranks, qualifying as a solicitor in 2009 and then becoming head of the wills and probate team in 2014.
Fakie, who has joined Nelsons’ wills and probate team, based on New Walk, as an associate, said: “I am thrilled to have joined such a large and respected regional law firm and everyone has been very welcoming.”
She added: “The best part of my job is being able to advise and support a client either through a difficult time in their life or to help them plan for the future. I like to build good relationships and trust with my clients so they know who to contact when they have a legal problem or need any advice.
“My priority going forward is to work with the team to develop the wills and probate department and let people know we are here to help. I am looking forward to working with a range of clients and also building a good network with other local professionals.”

Stuart Buchan
Independent financial services broker Midlands Asset Finance (MAF) has appointed a new business relationship manager, increasing its staff headcount to 21.
Stuart Buchan has joined the firm on the back of a long career with Lombard Business Finance, where he worked as a relationship manager with responsibility for business customers in the East Midlands.
Buchan said: “I’m delighted to be joining the team at MAF and really looking forward to developing relationships with MAF’s existing clients and building new ones as well.
“I’m passionate about working with people, getting to understand what makes them and their businesses tick and then being able to deliver solutions which exceed their expectations”.
