On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Chris Knott

Chris Knott has joined PKF Cooper Parry as a tax partner and will lead PKF Cooper Parry’s R&D Incentives team across the Midlands.

Knott joins from EY Birmingham where he was head of its Innovation Incentives team in the Midlands. He has advised on R&D tax-relief claims and other incentives at Big Four firms for 17 years – since the R&D incentives were introduced.

Simon Baines, partner and head of tax at PKF Cooper Parry, said: “Chris’s appointment is a major coup for us. His experience and specialist knowledge will be a huge asset for our clients as there is a massive opportunity for businesses to take advantage of the generous R&D reliefs that are available. Being able to attract Chris, a leading R&D specialist, shows our commitment to offering our clients the very best.’

Knott said: “I’m excited to be joining the fastest-growing and most innovative accountancy firm in the UK. PKF Cooper Parry has an incredible culture where everyone works together without the constraints of egos or individual targets which means that we can focus on providing an amazing service to our clients. From my experience, this is unique within our industry.”

Lincolnshire-based software company OrderWise has hired five new recruits to join the team.

The recruits include Charlotte Brand and Philip Prockter, who join the company as project assistants.

Steven Stewart joins the projects department as an accounts software specialist having previously worked as an assistant accountant.

The Reports and Layouts team is welcoming Christian Blanchette as its new reports and layouts writer.

Alice Rippin joins the company’s client account management department as a coordinator, having gained similar experience in the customer solutions department of a large office equipment company.

OrderWise director David Hallam said: “We’re proud to be welcoming five more new faces to the team at OrderWise. We’ve been lucky enough to take on more than 80 new employees in the past 18 months and staff numbers continue to rise. We’re coming up to a busy time of year with more potential clients coming on board so to have this kind of support in place is invaluable.”
