Flooring firm to create 125 jobs in Leicestershire

A flooring business says it wants to create 125 jobs over the next three years after moving its headquarters to Leicestershire.

UK Flooring Direct, which says it is the biggest online flooring retailer in the UK, has moved to a 58,000 sq ft warehouse on Hinckley Commercial Park.

The firm already employs 75 staff, but says it wants to grow that to 200 within the next three years, as well as grow turnover by as much as 500%.

Managing director Jason Ashby told the Leicester Mercury: “After several years of considerable sustained growth, we were running at capacity in our previous location, with staff amenities proving inadequate and stock-holding capacity preventing us from maximising sales.

“The new site offers the business the right combination of location, extensive office and operational space and a warehouse with enough stock-holding volume to achieve our goal of becoming a £100 million turnover business.

“Most importantly of all, it provides our family of employees with a great working environment.”

UK Flooring Direct was previously based in Nuneaton.
