Notts engineering firm plans new 16,000 sq ft head office

A Nottinghamshire engineering firm has submitted plans to build a new 16,000 sq ft head office in Newthorpe.

Caunton Engineering, which employs 78 people, wants to partly demolish the former DH Fathers offices on Moorgren Industrial Estate and build a two-storey head office on the site.

In a planning application to Broxtowe Borough Council, Ridge and Partners, Caunton’s agent, says: “Caunton Engineering wish to create a modern environment to reflect the values and forward thinking philosophy of their business, which is a top ten UK structural steelwork contractor.

“They are committed to bringing young people into the construction industry so feel that all of their facilities need to reflect the kind of environment they would expect to work in.

“This proposed new development represents an investment in the Eastwood town area, which will have a regenerative effect as a result of increased employed numbers within the building who will use local shops and services, therefore also benefiting the local economy as a result.

“The new extended building along with the structural improvements and modern cladding will provide a modern flexibly office space which will ensure the future of the building.”
