Multi-million pound land deal to bring forward 161 homes

Where the homes will be built

New homes are set to be built in North West Leicestershire after an 18 acre development site is sold in a multi-million pound deal.

Agent Fisher German has sold development land in Coalville with outline planning permission for up to 180 homes to housebuilder Avant Homes.

Fisher German acted on behalf of the landowners, who were keen to take advantage of development opportunities, to tender for a land promoter before selecting Gladman who gained outline planning permission for up to 180 homes.

The firm then brought the site, based off Greenhill Road, to market and received a high level of interest before agreeing a seven-figure deal with Avant Homes.

The housebuilder has now submitted a reserved matters application, and expects the site to ultimately deliver around 161 two- to five-bedroom family and affordable homes.

Ben Marshalsay, partner at Fisher German, said: “We are very pleased to agree a deal with Avant Homes after receiving a considerable amount of interest in the site.

“The housebuilder is increasing the number of dwellings they are building every year, and will now deliver much-needed homes in Coalville.

“Gladman worked extremely hard to achieve planning permission for the development and we secured a good result for our client, despite being hit with the EU referendum during the process.

“The site is based in a fairly established residential area on the edge of the town, which is situated in the heart of the National Forest and is just a few miles from the M1. It will feature a large amount of open space creating a green and urban fringe development.”

Avant Homes is expected to begin work on the site in December 2017, with properties expected to be available for purchase by June 2018.

James Turner, senior land manager at Avant Homes, said: “We are extremely happy to have secured another site in the core of our Midlands operating area that will contribute to our growth plans for 2017-2020.”
