Derby businesses to get a say on Landmark city development

How The Landmark could look

Godwin Developments are asking Derby businesses for their views on a significant new residential development planned for the city centre.

Following 12 months of pre-planning, plans for The Landmark are due to be submitted at the end of April and will include a 17-storey building, providing 200 apartments on a brownfield site on Derby’s North Riverside.

Stephen Pratt, director of Godwin Developments, said: “We are really excited to be bringing this scheme to Derby. The economic, social and cultural regeneration of the city is impressive and we believe The Landmark will be a market-leading city living development. We would welcome feedback from the business community and look forward to being part of the Marketing Derby Bondholder community.

The apartments would be a ‘Build to Rent’ development meaning no apartments are for sale. This guarantees one landlord for the whole scheme and paves the way for possible services such as a concierge, 24hr maintenance and additional facilities such as gyms, cinemas and lounges.

Marketing Derby says it has been working with Godwin Developments for some time on bringing these plans forward and support the plans fully.

John Forkin, managing director, said: “We are thrilled to see these plans for an iconic residential development that makes a statement about the ambitions of Derby to be seen as a progressive, 21st century city. As a location for tall buildings, North Riverside is ideal and we hope Bondholders will come and offer their support for the scheme at the Quad.”
