Profits and passengers up at East Midlands Airport owner

East Midlands Airport

Manchester Airport Group, the owner of East Midlands Airport, has posted strong results for its year-ending 31 March, with revenue, profits and passenger numbers all up.

The group’s profits rose by 4.6% to £217.1m on revenues of £814.3m.

Passenger numbers across the group rose 6.7% from 55.2 million to 58.9 million, with visitors to East Midlands Airport up 4.3% to 4.9 million.

The news comes just weeks after East Midlands Airport said it is on the hunt for a carrier that will be able to connect passengers to destinations all over the world.

EMA says it is looking to attract an airline that could fly passengers to a major European ‘hub’ airport, from which they would be able to fly to destinations across the globe, using just one ticket.
