Gin bar launches offering ‘interactive experience’

A new gin bar and restaurant has launched after local professionals gathered to celebrate the opening of Nottingham’s first “gin lab experience”.

Situated in Low Pavement, Nottingham, Juni Nottingham’s exclusive VIP launch night attracted over 230 guests who enjoyed a taster of what the venue has to offer, with a chance to sample the signature Juni 93 gin and tonics, the Balkan-inspired menu and experience Nottingham’s first gin lab.

Juni Nottingham Owner, Tom Masters and marketing and events manager, Harriet Unwin-Miller

Juni is a joint venture between the co-owner Tom Masters from Nottingham and four private investors. Tom is opening the bar with the support of his partner, marketing and events manager, Harriet Unwin-Miller, general manager, James Dexter formerly of The Orange Tree in Loughborough and head chef, Piotr Eliasz.

Masters said: “We are really excited to be able to open Nottingham’s first gin lab. At Juni you can eat, drink and even make your own bespoke bottle of gin in our specially designed lab at the rear of the restaurant.”

“We are really proud of our three unique gin recipes, each one specially developed at our distillery in Serbia which is surrounded by some of the highest quality juniper berries in the world. Over the past few years the popularity of gin has grown rapidly and to us, there was a clear gap in the Nottinghamshire restaurant scene that we are hoping Juni will fill. Juni offers high-quality dining, delicious independent gins and a fun, interactive experience.”

Private gin lab experiences, distilling classes, wine tasting and cocktail making courses will all be available from the restaurant.
