On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Mansfield insurance broker, Cowens, has appointed a new senior account handler.

Michael Cooper is the third new account handler to join the business in just four months and brings 17 years’ of experience. He previously worked at Nottingham Prudential for 11 years, before moving to Swinton insurance for four years.

He then moved to AIPS insurance brokers where he gained further personal lines experience before moving into commercial broking.

Cooper said: “I had always known of Cowens as a regional broker that was extremely well respected both across the Midlands and nationally for their integrity and great approach to customer service. The move over to commercial lines in the past couple of years at my previous workplace has provided me the ideal platform for bigger and better things at Cowens – this new role as senior account handler is definitely a huge step forward for my career.”

A new director has been appointed at East Midlands chartered surveyors and property consultants Wells McFarlane.

Former professional golfer Jason Hercock has been promoted to director, joining co-founders and directors Trevor Wells and Andrew McFarlane Holt as a member of the senior management and leadership team.

Hercock said: ““we’re currently involved in three of the biggest land deals in the East Midlands, a key aim of mine is to continue to raise our profile as a leading agent within Leicestershire, the East Midlands and increasingly further afield.”
