Land deal to bring 130 homes to Market Harborough

Planning permission has been granted for 128 houses on land off Kingston Way in Market Harborough.

Fisher German has now brokered a deal to sell the land to Barratt David Wilson for development.

The 16.5 acre development will feature a mixture of one to five-bedroom homes, including 40% affordable housing.

Luke Brafield, associate director at Fisher German’s Ashby office who secured the deal, said: “This was a fantastic result for our client – we have advised them on land promotion for a long time and we’re so pleased we were able to secure this deal with Barratt David Wilson. The sale of this land will ensure much needed houses are built in Market Harborough, including a good proportion of affordable homes.”

Liberty Stones of Fisher German, said: “In parallel to taking forward the planning application, we also made representations around the emerging Local Plan which sought to allocate the site for up to 90 dwellings. Market Harborough is a sustainable area and we made representations that the site could be allocated for 128 dwellings.

Barratt David Wilson expects to start work on the site in September, with the first homes being up for sale from October.
