Accountancy firm strengthens management team

Michelle Cox and Julie Parry

Accountancy firm UHY Hacker Young has added to its management team this month following a number of promotions within the business.

Julie Parry and Michelle Cox have both progressed to the roles of senior audit manager and senior tax manager respectively to help manage business growth and development at UHY Nottingham.

Parry, who initially joined in 2005, has seen the firm develop over time, evolving its approach to client and people management to keep up with the needs of businesses locally.

She said: “I’m really looking forward to getting stuck in and placing more emphasis on managing my team, as well as having an overview of all the accounts we are working on. It’s exciting to take on a more people-led role, focusing on the well-being of our teams to make sure everyone is happy and delivering high quality work for our clients.

“We have taken on some really interesting and developing clients in recent years, so it’s a great time to be promoted into the role of senior audit manager while the opportunities to learn and grow with the firm are so prominent.”

Newly-promoted senior tax manager Cox said: “This new role gives me more opportunity to get involved with the strategic planning of the business, developing ideas and finding new ways to help clients. Like Julie, I’m excited to develop and shape the team and take a more people-based approach to my work.

“I’m primarily responsible for personal tax so I will be ensuring the team is keeping up to date with clients, so they can adapt and respond to their changing needs. The uncertainty of the economic landscape in Britain right now means that it’s important that we communicate with our clients on a regular basis to make sure they are still getting everything they need from us.”

UHY has also promoted Rebecca Roberts who has worked her way up from assistant manager to manager and heads up UHY’s cloud accounting offering in Nottingham.

Simon Browning, partner in charge of UHY’s Nottingham office, said: “We are a major player in Nottingham and these changes to our team will enable the firm to push the business forward by developing our people and striving to continue to deliver the best service possible to our clients.

“I am delighted with our teams and these promotions show that we are investing in our people and I look forward to the future as we continue to grow and innovate.”
