Airfield Business Park prepares for pre-Christmas takeoff

A new business park in Market Harborough is on schedule to be ready for Christmas with the steel frames now up on the site.

Airfield Business Park is a £5.2m development being bult by J Tomlinson and backed by Leicestershire County Council. It is on a 13-acre site close to the A6.

Around 80,000 sq ft of space is being created in phase one, which could become home to more than 200 jobs.

Byron Rhodes, deputy leader of Leicestershire County Council, said: “This will have a positive impact on the town, which is one of our top priorities, as well as boost the local economy and create jobs.

“Investing in property enables us to generate extra income which we can then plough back into frontline services.”

The industrial and warehouse development has attractced interest from several companies, the council said.

Darroch Baker, construction managing director at J Tomlinson, added: “We will continue to work in partnership with the council and their project team to ensure a high-quality finish in November, with occupants able to inhabit the new units in time for the Christmas period.”
