New owner for Derby recruitment business

The Derby office of recruitment franchise, Driver Hire, has a new owner.

Darren Hooley has bought the franchise after 30-year career in the construction industry, working at both managerial and director level. Most recently he was construction director for Halesowen-based, Metstructures.

He said: “I was working away a lot and missed my family. I was also working long hours and decided that I’d prefer to work hard for myself and profit directly from my efforts.

“I researched several franchising opportunities before settling on Driver Hire. Moving from construction to recruitment isn’t totally random. In two of my previous jobs, I’ve been responsible for transport, working with driver recruitment agencies. That’s gave me a good insight into what makes a good recruitment business. I’m really looking forward to meeting the recruitment needs of a wide range of businesses here in Derby.”

Driver Hire specialises in the supply of staff to the road transport and logistics industry. It has 103 offices across the UK.
