Leicestershire insulation firm sold to roofing giant

BillSaveUK, the Leicestershire firm which provides loft and cavity wall insulation for homes, has been sold to Britain’s largest roofing contractor, Avonside.

BillSaveUK bought Mark Group’s business out of administration in 2015 and has now been snapped up itself by Avonside, which is based in Lancashire.

The firm will continue to be run by Bill Rumble, who set the firm up at the beginning of 2016. Rumble will run the Insulation Division on behalf of Avonside Group.

It its latest available accounts for the year-ending 31 December 2017, BillSaveUK made a loss of £2.9m, down from a loss of £6.4m in 2016. At the time, the company employed over 230 people.

Avonside chief executive, Tony Burke, said: “BillSaveUK have garnered a reputation of being the country’s leading installers of cavity wall insulation and loft insulation and have built fantastic relationships with their loyal customer base.

“As part of Avonside Group’s long-term growth strategy, we are pleased to have the opportunity to build on BillSaveUK’s legacy and are looking forward to delivering the high standard of service customers have come to expect.”

Avonside said that BillSaveUK customers will “continue to receive first-class service” and the acquisition “will not result in any disruption to their usual business and experience with BillSaveUK”.
