Plans revealed to transform former John Player building

A prominent building of Nottingham’s industrial past could be given new life if plans to turn it into a new student scheme are given the go-ahead.
MO Architects, which has offices in Lincoln and Nottingham, has submitted plans to Nottingham City Council to turn the long-derelict former John Player building in Radford into a 211-bed student development.
The scheme will include the part restoration and part new-build of the building, which was devastated by a huge fire in 2015. It has been untouched since.
MO Architects was formed by Iain Orme in 2008.
The project is expected to be completed for the 2021 academic year.
