A sustainable resin driveway brand has launched in the East Midlands.

Local businessman Adam Smith will take the reins at the new Derby branch of Oltco – the company behind the world’s first recycled driveway solution, Recycle Bound.

Recycle Bound is composed of waste plastic, with each square metre of the product consisting of the equivalent of 3,000 plastic straws.

Smith began his career in customer service before moving into various sales, marketing and account management roles. He recently worked for the construction firm Hilti.

He said: “When I heard about Oltco, I was instantly excited by the branding and business concept. I knew immediately that I wanted to be part of such an innovative and exciting enterprise, particularly to be able to offer Recycle Bound to the Derby area.

“I can’t wait to grow Oltco Derby by building and developing a team of highly motivated and trained local people who will ensure Oltco Derby gains a reputation for high quality installations coupled with outstanding customer service and aftercare – something that I am truly passionate about.”

Johnny Pearce, co-director at Oltco, said: “We are massive believers that a business should be driven through people and if you find the right people the business will drive itself.

“With the ethos to feel good about the work we do and the decisions we make, we take great care when deciding if somebody is the right fit for the Oltco team. Adam is 100 per cent the right person for us.”

Fellow director Tom Stringer added: “When we met Adam we were really impressed by his dedication to building a successful business, his passion for the environment, his utter and complete commitment to delivering customer service that is second to none and his vision, enthusiasm and professionalism. Adam’s experience of working in different industry sectors brings a wealth of experience to the business.”
