£45m funding deal brings student scheme a step closer

How the scheme will look

Student Roost has completed a £45 million forward funding deal for another huge development of student accommodation in Nottingham city centre.

According to a report in Property Week, the 472-bed scheme at York House on Mansfield Road is now expected to be completed by the start of the 2021 academic year.

In addition to student bedrooms and studios there will be amenity areas on the lower levels of the building including communal lounge areas, café-style spaces, meeting rooms and an on-site gym.

The site was sold by intu in November last year, with reports at the time suggesting Sports Direct was the buyer, and Nottingham City Council gave the green light to the project back in March.

Cassidy Group has been named as developer on the project, which is being designed by Franklin Ellis architects.

The development will add to Student Roost’s existing portfolio of three properties in the city.
