Fulfilment firm kicks off expansion plan with six-figure investment

Hallmark Consumer Services' new warehouse mezzanine

A Melton-based fulfilment business has expanded its warehouse as part of a plan to double the size of its operations over the next five years.

Hallmark Consumer Services has spent a six-figure sum on the expansion, which involved adding 8,000 sq ft of storage and shelving space as an upper floor mezzanine to its existing 40,000 sq ft headquarters.

An enhanced storage and shipping facility has also been added.

Hallmark managing director Philip Hall said: “Our key aim is to deliver a first-class, personalised and flexible service that helps our clients to grow their business, and we have expanded our facility with this in mind. The additional space not only increases our size and efficiency, but means we can expand the range and size of goods we handle for our clients.

“Plans for a further 30,000 sq ft extension of the warehouse are already in development, which will double our capacity over the next five years.

“Expanding our existing premises was a no-brainer. Melton is centrally located and has excellent transport links which enable us to provide an efficient delivery service across the UK, which will be further enhanced when the Melton bypass is completed.”

The company has recorded annual turnover of more than £5 million each year since it purchased the premises in 2013.
