Plans submitted for ‘landmark’ city centre residential scheme

How the scheme was originally planned to look

BSP Holdings has submitted a planning application for the redevelopment of the former Gala Bingo Site on St Ann’s Well Road, Nottingham

BSP said earlier this year that it would create a landmark residential/student accommodation scheme at the site, which will include 396 bedrooms.

Nigel Singh, Director at BSP Holdings, said: “This is an existing project for BSP Holdings. We have worked on the scheme for a number of months with the planners and have developed a design that will enhance the area and provide much needed additional accommodation within walking distance of the city centre.”

Adam Watson, finance and investment director at BSP Holdings, added: “We recently completed number of other development projects in the vicinity. This location is growing in popularity and is highly sustainable for its connection to the city centre.”

Alison Dudley of Zenith Planning and Design Consultants and Keith Clark of CBP Architects submitted the application on behalf of BSP Holdings.

Clark said: “CBP Architects are delighted to be working with BSP Holdings on this project which will have a hugely positive effect on the whole of the surrounding area at the southern end of St Ann’s Well Road. The site sits within the Zone of Reinvention in the Eastside Regeneration Zone as defined by the Nottingham City Centre Urban Design Guide and this reformative scheme replaces rundown or disused accommodation currently on the site.”

David Singh, senior partner at BSP Holdings, said “Along with our recent planning application for the redevelopment of 1 Wallet Street, this site shows we are heavily investing the in the regeneration of Nottingham and this is the latest example of the confidence we have in the city.”
