On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

East Midlands law firm Smith Partnership has announced three significant promotions.

Anna McLeod has been made partner after excelling in the area of complex clinical negligence claims as an associate solicitor; Danielle Upton has been promoted from commercial property solicitor to associate solicitor and Liam Kreibich moves up from solicitor to associate solicitor.

Smith Partnership’s managing partner Kevin McGrath said: “It’s very exciting to see the talent that the firm nurtures coming through.

“Anna, Danielle and Liam are experts in their respective fields and have shown the high levels of client care and commitment for which Smith Partnership is known.

“They have all richly deserved their promotions and we are looking forward to their next chapters with us.”

Elsewhere, Derby-based public relations and communications firm Nielsen McAllister PR (NMPR) has bolstered its senior management team with the appointment of a former journalist.

Phil Stubbs

New PR account director Phil Stubbs was formerly political editor at the Derby Telegraph before launching his PR career with Derby-based McConnells Group in 2006.

He set up his own consultancy, Stubbs PR, in 2008 before become marketing director for one of his clients.

Bob Bushby, managing director of NMPR, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Phil to the team. We have ambitious plans to expand the business and I see Phil as being a pivotal part of that.

“He brings with him a huge amount of knowledge and experience from his years in media and communications, which I’m confident will provide enormous benefits for both existing and future clients as well as the rest of the NMPR team.”
