On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Architecture practice LK2 Group has announced a trio of hires.
Maria Karolides has taken up the role of senior architect, while Charlie Cairns and Zack Barnes have joined the Lincoln-based company as apprentices.
Karolides said: “Joining LK2 is an exciting next step for me, it works on large national projects which I’m looking forward to getting involved in and supporting with my own insight. In my new role I will be involved with LK2’s internal office design review process, helping to ensure quality architecture from the office as a whole.
“For over 11 years I have worked in Lincoln on a wide variety of briefs including a number of award winning projects for the University of Lincoln as well as specialist facilities for Lincolnshire County Council, meaning I am proud to be working for a practice based here that offers the exciting opportunities nationally.”
Elsewhere in Lincolnshire, West Lindsey District Council has named Ian Knowles as its new chief executive.
The Chief Officer Employment Committee, which is made up of councillors, carried out a rigorous interview process and confirmed the decision this week.
Cllr Giles McNeill, leader of West Lindsey District Council said: “I am really pleased to welcome Ian to his new role as West Lindsey District Council’s new chief executive.

“The Chief Officer Employment Committee has taken a deliberate approach in recent months to ensure that there will be a resilient and effective senior management structure to support our new chief executive.
“It had become increasingly clear to me that our triumvirate model of three executive directors was no longer the right approach as we move into the 2020s. Strategic partnerships are increasingly important to local authorities and it has become clear to me that a single point of contact is a significant advantage.
“As leader, I look forward to working with our new chief executive to deliver the administration’s agenda over the next three and a half years.”
Knowles has been working at the Council for five and a half years and until this appointment was executive director of resources.
