Contractor named for £100m stadium scheme

How the new Peter Taylor stand could look

Buckingham Group has been chosen to deliver Nottingham Forest FC’s £100 million stadium redevelopment, according to Construction Enquirer.

The Stowe-based contractor could begin work on the ambitious project to expand the City Ground at the end of the current football season.

Buckingham has previously worked on a number of football-based schemes including the National Indoor Arena in Dublin, Stadium MK in Milton Keynes and the Amex Stadium in Brighton. The company is currently on site at Craven Cottage working on the redevelopment of Fulham FC’s Riverside Stand.

As previously reported by TheBusinessDesk.com, Forest formally submitted a hybrid planning application for the scheme in December.

The proposals include the addition of 6,000 seats to the Peter Taylor Stand, a new museum, club shop and hospitality lounges, parking provision and up to 250 residential units split into two blocks.

On submitting the plans last year, Nottingham Forest chairman Nicholas Randall QC said the redevelopment project was a “statement of intent” from owner Evangelos Marinakis which emphasised his “long-term commitment to the club and his determination to create the conditions for sustained success.”
