Ollerton-based A1 Flue Systems has recruited eleven new members of staff to bolster its manufacturing, estimating and installations teams.

The UK market leader in the design, manufacture and installation of commercial and industrial chimney systems also says there may be further jobs in the pipeline as it continues to secure more prestigious projects.

Joanne Smith has joined the firm to head up its estimating department, which produces initial designs and costs for projects. Kirsten Richardson, Lewis Gourley and Charlotte Lound join Smith to take the team to nine.

Mitch Eley, Bradley Lane, James Waugh and Paul Robinson are all new starters in A1’s manufacturing team, while Dean Mclean, Corey Andrews and Josh Marsh have joined the installations team.

Completing the appointments, Andrea Evans has come on-board to strengthen A1’s accounts department.

Managing director John Hamnett said: “We’ve been on a big recruitment drive at the back end of last year and the start of this one to fill vacancies right across our business as we continue to be successful securing contracts for flue and chimney systems.

“We’re also looking beyond what we need as a business in the next few months because we believe the UK leaving the EU will present plenty of opportunities for us as a British manufacturer of bespoke systems – especially as a lot of our competitors use components brought in from Europe.”

In the last 12 months, the company completed a multi-million pound contract to manufacture chimney systems for two of the four iconic chimneys at Battersea Power Station in London and a multi-million euro contract to design, manufacture and install flue and chimney systems for a new children’s hospital in Dublin.
