Developer reaches Section 106 agreement for huge Nottingham redevelopment site

How the scheme could look

Conygar, the company which is planning to redevelop the Island Quarter site in Nottingham, has agreed a Section 106 agreement with Nottingham City Council.

The development, which received outlined planning permission in April 2019 and saw work clearing the site start earlier this year, will be transformed as part of the regeneration of the southern side of the city.

Christopher Ware of Conygar said this was a significant step for the development: “We are really pleased to have reached an agreement on the Section 106 commitments with Nottingham City Council.

“We have already been working very hard behind the scenes to ensure that the commitments can be met and that we are in a position to submit detailed planning for the first phase of work.

“This is a long-term, phased project, and we are committed delivering a sustainable development where people desire to live and work.”

The proposals will see the site transformed into a vast mixed-use scheme that will include 600,000 sq ft of office space. The scheme will also include 907 new homes and a linear public park.
