HR and training firm lands double contract win

The Loates HR team

A Derby HR and training business has landed two new contracts following expansion and relocation to larger new premises.

Loates HR Consultancy, based at the World Heritage Site in Darley Abbey Mills, has secured a brace of tenders to deliver HR and employment law training for the D2N2 and Leicestershire Business Gateway Growth Hub sessions in collaboration with the East Midlands Chamber and training on behalf of the DRIVEN project at the University of Derby.

Company owner Sarah Loates was supported by fellow business owner Rachel Hayward from Ask the Chameleon, a specialist in outsourced bid writing.

Loates said:“Before I wrote the tender, I consulted Rachel, her insights and specialist knowledge were invaluable, and she really helped guide me through the tender process. Rachel and I are both University of Derby alumni and have worked closely together in the past.”

Hayward said: “I was so pleased to be able to support Sarah in her first applications to secure new business. That she has won both tenders just demonstrates that there are opportunities out there, and they are open to new applicants.”

Loates added: “We are thrilled to have won these tenders. At a time of such uncertainty for businesses it is great to have the tender opportunities in the pipeline. We will also be delivering the training online which replaces our face-to-face HR training offer.

“I would definitely encourage other business owners to have a go at bid writing and tenders. It is a time-consuming process, but the investment has really paid off for our business.

“It was great to share with the team some positive news during the lockdown period and it is something that the whole team can be proud of. We can now get on with delivering our new work.”
