Prisoner security firm locks down 13,500 sq ft property deal

A firm that escorts prisoners between custody, courts and prisons has taken one of the first units at a new scheme in Leicestershire.

GEOAmey have taken a 13,500 sq ft industrial unit at The Whittle Industrial Estate in Whetstone.

Leicestershire agents Andrew + Ashwell and Innes England are the joint agents on the scheme for the

developer Canmoor Asset Management.

Daniel Austin, asset manager at Canmoor Asset Management, said: “We are delighted to have completed our first letting on this new exciting scheme, which overall has been designed to provide as much flexibility for occupiers in terms of unit sizes and specification, within this prime trading area of Leicester.”

Malcolm Grayson, director in Andrew + Ashwell negotiated terms with GEOAmey’s representative,
David Nunn of Dunlop Heywood who secured Units 3&4 on a long term lease. He said: “GEOAmey had searched the wider Leicester area and selected Whittle as the perfect location, while
fulfilling their staffing objective for quality premises. The property also provides generous parking and exceptional security.”

Peter Doleman, of joint letting agent Innes England, added: “It must surely be very encouraging for local business to see The Whittle Estate expanding to provided targeted product in a market where new speculative product is in such short supply and remains at historically low levels.”
