Iconic Nottinghamshire estate up for sale for £10m

Kelham Hall

A landmark Nottingham Victorian estate is up for sale for £10m.

Kelham Hall & Country Park, an iconic Victorian estate near Newark, has been placed on the market through Christie & Co.

The estate has full planning and listed building consent for conversion to a 103-bedroom hotel, complete with a spa, food and beverage, and recreational facilities as well as a wedding and events venue.

Designed by the famous Sir George Gilbert Scott as a precursor to his London St Pancras Train Station design, the Grade I, ll & ll* listed Victorian estate dates back to 1863.

The property is regarded as one of the Midland’s largest prime wedding, conference and events venues, with capacity for events in excess of 1,000 people.

Ryan Lynn, director of corporate hotels at Christie & Co, said: “We are very pleased to be marketing this fantastic development opportunity in the heart of Nottinghamshire. Kelham Hall is one of the most iconic and historic buildings in the area and offers a buyer the chance to create what could be one of the best hotels in the country. This is a great opportunity for a buyer to secure a substantial property and redevelop it over the next 12 to 24 months, allowing the business to open into a resurgent market.”
