On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Nottingham-based Your IT Department has added to its technical team with the appointment of two new team members.

IT Engineer Oliver Lowe has joined the business having previously worked at Central IT, while apprentice technician Fern Ritchie has recently returned to the UK from New Zealand.

The new appointments bring the total staff at Your IT to 15.

Lee Hewson, managing director, said: “We are delighted to get both Oliver and Fern onboard. The delays have been frustrating for everyone, but our induction process involved a lot of learning by watching, with new starts spending time sitting with experienced team members. We’ve had to look at alternative methods of getting new team members up to speed. It’s been another challenge thrown up by coronavirus and the lockdown.”

Roxy Leisure has appointed Mark McQuater as chairman.

Roxy Leisure, which operates sites under the Roxy Ball Room, Roxy Arcade, and Roxy Lanes banners, was founded in 2013, with Leeds-based Matt and Ben Jones launching the first location in their home city.

The company currently has nine venues across Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham and Nottingham; offering pool, ping pong, arcade games, beer pong, bowling, karaoke, shuffleboard, mini-golf, private hire and more.

McQuater is experienced in the sector and has been CEO of Revolution, Founder CEO of Barracuda Group, and Managing Director of JD Wetherspoon. He is currently chairman or NED of a number of growth businesses including Barworks, gym operator Studio Society and Vistage UK.

He said: “I am delighted to join Matt and the team at Roxy which as a leading business in the Competitive Socialising Market is well placed to expand and grow in this exciting space.“
