Mothercare seals delayed supply deal with Boots

Baby goods firm Mothercare, which closed all its UK shops in January, has finally sealed a deal with Nottingham-headquartered Boots to sell its goods across the chain.

The baby products firm put its UK business into administration last year leading to the closure of all 79 shops and the loss of 2,500 jobs.

In a statement today it said the deal with Boots as its UK and Republic of Ireland franchise partner will be for an initial period of 10 years.

Mothercare said: “Mothercare branded clothing will be available in a large number of Boots stores across the UK and Ireland from this autumn with home and travel products (including pushchairs and car seats) available in larger Boots stores, as well as online.

“Boots is at the heart of one of the largest healthcare businesses in the world and Mothercare will dovetail well as the specialist brand for parents and young children in both Boots stores and online.”

First announced in December, the deal was hit by a series of delays due to the coronavirus pandemic.
