Plans for 22 Ilkeston homes get the green light

How the development will look

Kaplan Property Group (KPG), the Leicestershire-based developer, has secured planning permission to build 22 residential units as part of a redevelopment of former allotment gardens at Gallows Inn Close, Ilkeston.

Plans for the two acre site show a mix of 2- and 3- bedroom properties bordering the Erewash Canal.

The scheme will be delivered in partnership with East Midlands Housing Group and Erewash Borough Council. Geda Construction has been appointed principal contractor, with construction work due to start in this month (October) and with completion expected towards the end of 2021.

Michael Gisborne, property director at KPG, said: “The scheme has been designed in close consultation with Erewash Borough Council (EBC), providing a mix of housing to meet local identified housing needs.

“The Borough of Erewash is an important location for KPG and we will continue to work closely with the local authority to aid delivery of our wider program commitments.

“In seeking to respond to location specific needs across the Midlands, we continue to source development opportunities and welcome discussion with parties able to assist in our ongoing development program.”
