A fast-growing Nottingham joinery firm has bought a new headquarters building in Shirebrook.

Empire Interior Contractors has snapped up the 10,150 sq ft unit in Portland Drive in a deal brokered by Anthony Barrowcliffe of FHP Property Consultants.

Empire Contractors specialise in the manufacturing and installation of bespoke joinery and associated products. The firm operates both nationally and internationally.

In a statement, Dean Strouther and Luke Pella of the firm said: “Purchasing the property on Portland Drive was our first venture into commercial ownership and was a major stepping stone for our business, a process that was equally rewarding and nerve racking. With limited knowledge of this process our minds were quickly put at ease with Anthony taking lead of the sale to ensure everything was processed in a timely, yet accurate manner. Although the sale was during the Covid-19 lockdown, the focus remained, and we were over the moon to complete mid-September and get the transitional process underway.”

Barrowcliffe said: “I was very pleased to have been instructed to sell this unit on behalf of a longstanding client of FHP. After a good marketing campaign, we engaged with Empire Interior Contractors who were a growing local company wanting to expand and purchase their own premises. FHP worked closely with the vendor and the purchaser throughout lockdown and through combined efforts and cooperation we managed to complete on this 10,150 sq ft unit.”

Kirsty Courtney-May of Hopkins Solicitors represented the vendor and Matthew Maiden of Banner Jones Solicitors represented the purchaser.
