Pair of Nottingham surveyors launch charity appeals

A lack of office Christmas parties this year has led to a chartered surveying firm Musson Liggins to set up a fundraiser for the Treetops Hospice, which provides nursing care and emotional support for anyone affected by a life-limiting illness or bereavement.

The firm is asking companies and individuals to donate a proportion of what they would usually be spending on Christmas parties and/or tickets to events.

David Bladen, director at Musson Liggins, said: “The directors of Musson Liggins were discussing the fact that we weren’t going to have an office Christmas party this year so we decided to donate a proportion of what we would’ve spent to Charity.

“Treetops Hospice does amazing work throughout the local community so we created a JustGiving page and the local business community have rallied to support them.

“Despite times being tough, we are delighted that we have already broken through our £1,000 target and the donations keep coming in.”

The NG Chartered Surveyors team

Meanwhile, the team at NG Chartered Surveyors is also raising money.

The team at NG have all signed up to complete the challenge of doing 3,000 press ups (each) to be completed by the end of November in a bid to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Richard Sutton, managing director, said: “We are just a week in and its already hurting! We’ll be posting updates on our Twitter LinkedIn page and website letting you know how we are getting on.

“If you can donate anything to support us then that would be appreciated, doesn’t matter how small the amount is as everything raised does make a difference.”
