M69 closed in both directions

The M69 in Leicestershire is closed in both directions between J1 (near Hinckley) and J2 (near Stoney Stanton) due to a Police-led incident.

Emergency services including Leicestershire Police and an Air Ambulance are in attendance. Highways England Traffic Officers are also providing assistance with traffic management at scene.

Highways England is reporting the following diversions:

Northbound diverted traffic should follow the hollow circle symbol. Exit the M69 at J1 and take the third exit (right) onto the A5 southbound. Continue until the A5/A4303 Cross in Hand Roundabout. Take the first exit (left) onto the A4303 eastbound. Continue on this road, passing through the roundabouts at Magna Park and Coventry Road until the A5/A425 Lutterworth Road/Rugby Road Roundabout. Take the second exit (straight over) and continue eastbound along the A4303 to the M1 J20. Join the M1 northbound until J21, then continue north to continue with your onward journey.

Southbound diverted traffic should follow the solid triangle symbol. Instead of leaving the M1 southbound (to join the M69), continue southbound on the M1 until J20. Exit the motorway at J20 and then join the A4303. Continue until the A4303/A426 Lutterworth Road/Rugby Road Roundabout. Take the second exit at the roundabout and then continue westbound along the A4303 passing through the roundabouts at Coventry Road and Magna Park to the A5/A4303 Cross in Hand Roundabout. Take the fourth exit at the roundabout and continue northbound on the A5. Continue along the A5 (Watling Street) to then re-join the M6 southbound at J1.
