Housebuilder pledges to create 110 jobs on next phase of scheme

A housebuilder says it will create 110 jobs when it starts work on an upcoming Miller development in Allestree.

Miller Homes is set to start work on the next phase of the scheme, on Kedleston Road. The build on Kedleston Grange began in August last year, with the first phase comprising 151 homes. When all phases are complete, the development will feature 400 properties in total, including a selection of two, three, four and five-bedroom houses, and one and two-bedroom apartments.

The firm says the construction of the new neighbourhood will provide employment opportunities for a wide range of workers in the region including electricians, plumbers, joiners, scaffolders and bricklayers.

Alastair Parsons, area sales director for Miller Homes Midlands, said: “Working with the local community is a key part of any new neighbourhood we launch. For us, it’s not just about bringing new homes to the area, it’s also about having the opportunity to provide employment for skilled local tradespeople and doing our bit to support the regions we build in through investment in local services and education such as The Ecclesbourne School.

“As one of our larger developments, featuring 400 homes built over a number of phases, we’re pleased Kedleston Grange will be able to help to create such a large number of jobs, especially during what is an exceptionally difficult time for so many.”
