ENGIE wins £12m housing contract

Energy and regeneration specialist ENGIE has been appointed by emh, an East Midlands-based housing group, to create a £12m housing scheme in Irthlingborough, Northamptonshire.

Located on Wellingborough Road, the project will involve the construction of 84 houses and bungalows ranging from two to four bedrooms.

The scheme – named ‘The Gateway’ – is located close to local amenities and attractive green spaces, making it an ideal location for families.

The new homes will be available for affordable rent, rent to buy, shared ownership and for sale on the open market.

Nathan Brough, regional director at ENGIE’s Places and Communities division, said: “We’re delighted to have been chosen to deliver this project, which will create high quality homes that provide an opportunity for local people to get on the housing ladder. Demand for all types of housing is particularly high across Northamptonshire, so it’s great that this new development will provide such a range of options. I’m looking forward to seeing the positive effect that the development will have on this area.”

Chris Jones, executive director of Development at emh said: “We are proud to be delivering much needed, high quality homes in Irthlingborough through our partnership with ENGIE. The different tenures will contribute to meeting a range of housing aspirations for the people of Northamptonshire, as well as providing a boost to the local area.”

Work on the site is due to commence in July of this year.
