Newark firm motors on with 13 new staff

Matt Potts

Newark-based specialist car discount service, Motorfinity, has appointed 13 new members of staff.

Motorfinity specialises in providing exclusive discounts for NHS, emergency services, social care, teachers and defence workers.

Since April 2020, the company says it has witnessed a 266% increase in staff from six employees to twenty two after recruiting ten team members, two apprentices and new finance manager, Matt Potts.

The new recruits include the appointment of Beth Twohig-Lawton as marketing executive; Jayne Kerins and Paris Bennett as account managers and Sharon Hockley as officer manager.

Further support will be provided by apprentices Oliver Bentley and Jordan Allen, who will be gaining experience working in the sales division.

Potts joins the firm with 20 years’ experience in the finance sector, having spent time in the freight, accounting, leisure and healthcare industries, honing his expertise. He will be tasked with the responsibility of driving forward the company’s continued growth by establishing the firm’s finance division, with the potential to expand his own team in the future.

Potts said: “I’m delighted to have joined the Motorfinity team. It’s a company I’ve heard great things about for some time, and I particularly admired its approach to customer service.

“At previous companies, I found the day-to-day operations were driven solely by profit – which is often a characteristic of the finance industry. But here, the company – and its rapidly expanding team – is motivated by providing hardworking individuals with a great car at unbeatable prices and delivering the very best, personable service possible.

He added: “It’s clear that the company is moving from strength-to-strength, having started with a handful of key employees just a year ago. And despite the difficulties the pandemic has presented, the team’s resilience and ability to bounce back to full-strength, has been admirable.

“I’m excited to really get my feet under the table in the new role and to establishing a high-quality finance division that will help the wider team to achieve even more success this year.”

CEO of Motorfinity, Daniel Briggs, said: “We’re thrilled that Matt has joined the ranks here at Motorfinity. His positive character, experience and ambitious outlook for the new finance division will make him a great asset to the business as we move forward.

“2021 has so far been a record-breaking year for us, and I’ve never been more proud of the efforts of the whole team who worked tirelessly throughout 2020 to make this possible.

“To have been able to grow our team by such a significant amount in a short space of time will have a huge impact on being able to expand our customer base and range of services. Not to mention, enabling us to continue to provide fantastic assistance to customers that do so much. There are so many exciting plans in the pipeline for us as a business, so watch this space.”
