New sponsor Pick Everard reflects as Hot Property makes a comeback

Pick Everard at Hot Property

As we begin November, thoughts are turning to Nottingham Hot Property making a comeback next month following last year’s cancellation. In the lead up to the highly anticipated event, we caught up with Diana Hawkins, business development manager at Pick Everard, on their first time as sponsors and reflecting on the last year.

How many years has Pick Everard been attending Hot Property?

Pick Everard has attended Hot Property for a couple of years now and it just gets better and better each year – the professionalism and hidden talents in our industry are absolutely outstanding. This year presented the perfect opportunity for us to sponsor. As a national consultancy we’re focused on supporting regional activities and initiatives such as Hot Property. We’re very pleased with the chosen charity and proud to support such a great cause.

How many years have you been a sponsor?

This will be our first time as a sponsor. It’s a one-of-a-kind celebration that really lets you entertain your guests in a fun and different way. The performers really go out of their way to make it the best event of the year and it’s great to see another side of them rather than the professionals we know in our day-to-day jobs. Most importantly, the event raises vital funds for a much-needed local charity and for us it’s a fantastic night to be a part of.

What are you most looking forward to about NHP 2021?

Gathering with industry professionals, clients and collaborators. After the last 20 months of not seeing many people in person, we are looking forward to catching up with so many missed faces and making new connections.

Have you ever had anything to do with the chosen charity for this year – Young Lives vs Cancer?

As part of our practice social value strategy we support many charities and causes throughout the year, so we’re very pleased to support Young Lives vs Cancer this December.

Is anyone from Pick Everard performing this year?

Unfortunately not, but there is always next year – we’re considering forming a band called Little Picks! It takes a lot of courage and commitment to perform for 800 property and construction professionals and although we have a lot of great performers within the practice we are still on the lookout for someone to take on that challenge.

How has the last year been for you?

Despite the challenges we’ve all faced over the past 18 months, Pick Everard has continued to achieve sustainable growth – with the practice continuing to support clients across the public and private sectors. We’ve worked closely with our clients to ensure continuity of service throughout the last year and are proud to have been able to successfully deliver major projects across the UK together.

The continued success of the practice has provided the ability for us to grow our numbers, with the practice now employing over 600 people across the UK. This has seen us bring in new experts across key sectors, who add significantly to our existing multi-professional teams. We plan to continue this momentum into 2022 and beyond.

The past 12 months has provided us with an opportunity to learn from the new ways of working we adopted in response to the pandemic. We’ve focused on engaging with our teams to understand what works well for them, and how they would like to shape their working week. Our new hybrid working arrangements give our people greater flexibility, with a combination of office and home-based working. Since rolling out this change it’s been fantastic to see the team coming back together and enjoying the culture that makes the practice so special, whilst still enjoying the flexibility to work from their preferred location.

The sponsors for this year’s event are: Pulse Consult, Pagabo, CPMG Architects, Overbury, Pick Everard, Couch Perry Wilkes, Samclo Construction, Faithful & Gould, Shakespeare Martineau along with supporters at Rizk McCay Tribe, Cartwright Communications, Ginger Root and The Business Desk East Midlands.
