Property deal brings new pharmacy business to Derby suburb

A new pharmacy business is set to open in the Derby suburb of Chaddesden, following a property deal brokered by Salloway Property Consultants.

Vision Pharmacy has taken on the Maine Drive Pharmacy, in a deal which will see the firm sign a new, unbroken 15-year lease.

The property had previously been occupied by national chain Lloyds Pharmacy, but had not traded for the past two years.

Chris Keogh, associate director at Salloway Property Consultants, said: “We were appointed by the landlords to agree a surrender of the existing lease which had just over two years unexpired. During our negotiations with Lloyds we engaged with Vision Pharmacy and therefore were able to synchronise the termination of the current lease to coincide with the grant of a new lease. We must reserve special praise for our client’s solicitor, Danielle Upton of Smith Partnership, who provided a first class service and played a vital role in ensuring the simultaneous surrender and grant of the new lease.”

The new pharmacy will open its doors in early December.
