Mystery buyer of failed steelworks contractor revealed

Bowmer & Kirkland is thought to be the mystery company which bought stricken Derby steelwork contractor Robinson Structures out of administration in a pre-pack deal last week.

Some 68 jobs were saved when the third generation family firm, which can trace its roots back to the 1950s.

Now, according to reports in trade title Construction Enquirer, Bowmer & Kirkland’s B&K Structures, which is also based in Derby, is understood to have bought the company.

The report suggests that a new business, B&K Hybrid Solutions, will operate from Robinson Structures’ 10,000 sq ft former HQ on Eagle Park.
