CPW counts down the clock to Hot Property

With the clock ticking down to the biggest event in the property and construction calendar, we sat down with Alex Skidmore, senior electrical engineer at CPW, to talk about why sponsoring Nottingham Hot Property (NHP) is a key date in the diary for the national M&E consultancy.

How long have you been attending Hot Property?
The CPW team has been attending for years, and a sponsor for the last five, but my first experience of the event was in 2016 when I first joined CPW – and I haven’t missed one since!
The last event was spectacular and, with the 2020 unfortunately postponed, I’m sure NHP will be back bigger and better this year.

What are you most looking forward to about NHP 2021?
Hot Property is a real highlight in the calendar each year and the team is really looking forward to it – especially after the last 18 months we’ve all had. It’s such an exciting event and a great opportunity to see fellow industry professionals getting up on stage as opposed to in meeting rooms or on building sites.
It will also be wonderful to see everybody back enjoying the event, while also supporting a fantastic local charity.

Is anyone from CPW performing this year?
Our very own Ashley Cowdrey and Harry Stannard are performing at this year’s event. If previous events are anything to go by then I’m sure both will be memorable performances!

How has the last year been for you?
The past year has presented many personal and professional challenges for all the obvious reasons, however at CPW we’ve remained focused and busy. I feel fortunate to have been involved in a number of interesting projects within the residential, leisure, office and further education sectors.

Outside of the office I’ve been focusing on my health and fitness, I’ve discovered a love of running and somehow managed the Robin Hood Half Marathon back in September. I’m hoping to continue this over the coming months and will be looking to set some new goals for 2022 soon.

CPW is an international M&E consultancy with 250 staff based across 11 offices – including Birmingham, Bristol, Derby, Huntingdon, Leeds, Leicester, London, Manchester, and Nottingham as well as in Poland and India. The firm – which works across a wide range of sectors including healthcare, residential, education and more – specialises in designing and integrating a full range of energy solutions into existing and new buildings.

Alongside CPW the sponsors for this year’s event include Pagabo and Pulse Consult as headline sponsors as well as CPMG, Faithful+Gould, Overbury, Pick Everard, Samclo, and Shakespeare Martineu. Joining these are PR agency Cartwright Communications, design agency RizkMcCayTribe, design and print agency Ginger Root, Confetti Media Group, and the event’s media partner TheBusinessDesk.com
