People: Apprentice success at Purpose Media; More recruits for building products firm; Russell Scanlan goes for experience

Purpose Media has appointed its 15th apprentice and the promoted two former apprentices to senior roles.
Josh Donell joined Purpose Media first six years ago, and Olly Torrance the following year. Donnell is now a senior developer, and Torrance has risen through the ranks to senior SEO strategist.
Purpose Media’s latest apprentice is Alli Howland who joins on a digital marketing apprenticeship. The company has also strengthened its content team following the appointment of Olivia Beesley who has a degree in Professional Writing with Media Studies from The University of Derby. She joins from an event management and magazine publishing company where she was a marketing manager.
Torrance said: “Working at Purpose Media exposes you to a vast range of industries and each approach needs to be unique. This challenging environment is always pushing the boundaries of your own ability whilst driving fast paced growth. I’m very proud of my achievement and very eager to get started in the new role and delivering great results for our clients.”
Donnell added: “I have been very lucky to have great mentors over the last six years and have experienced first-hand the value of an apprenticeship. They enable young people to earn whilst they gain a qualification as well as the ability to gain softer skills that are invaluable in the workplace. Now I am in a senior role I am looking forward to nurturing the next generation of Purpose Media apprentices and helping them understand the company culture and needs of our clients.”
Lee Bingham
Derbyshire building products firm PermaGroup has kicked off the new year by recruiting across several divisions.
The company has taken on a range of experts to fill new and existing positions at the head office in Alfreton. These include: Neiah Slater, customer service advisor, Lee Bingham, operations manager, Charlotte Caddick, telephonist, and Rob Hunt, technical manager.

Nottingham-based independent insurance broker, Russell Scanlan has appointed a new account handler to its exclusive private client team.

Rob Newman joins the firm with over 40 years’ experience of the insurance industry.
He said: “I have known about Russell Scanlan for many years as it is such an established business within the insurance industry with an impressive reputation. Having known previous colleagues who have taken up a role there, I had already heard of what a great company it is to work for and the friendly atmosphere of the team prior to applying, so naturally I knew it would be the perfect fit for me.
