New images emerge of major Nottingham city centre residential scheme

How the scheme would look

New images have been emerged of a major scheme planned next to Nottingham railway station which could pave the way for a huge £100m mixed-use scheme on the site.

The plans include a 145-apartment scheme, alongside a 406-bed student development and associated public realm.

Initial designs for a hotel on the site appear to have been ruled out.

Developer MRP put forward plans in 2019 for the site at the top of Queens Road in Notitngham city centre that would bring forward a 170-bed hotel, hundreds of new homes and student housing.

In 2019, national planning and development consultancy Lichfields was appointed by the developer to deliver the planning consent, and the parties held a public consultation on the proposals

Lichfields planning director Ian Kettlewell said: “This development displays investor confidence in Nottingham and plays a key part in the regeneration of the Canal Quarter.

Consarc has been named as the architect on the new iteration of the scheme.
